Well another year passed. And I was lucky to take part in another set of interesting film projects in 2009.

Film work.

Well its almost a year since I posted last news about my work. For that year I was involved in production of one miniseries for A&E Network and three movies. One for Czech, one for American, and one for English production, and all at UPP. All of them were very interesting projects. I did a lot of work in various roles on that projects, and I also learned a new things about various aspects of technical direction, rendering technologies, and compositing.

O2 "Frozen Time"

I recently finished work on two spots for O2 "Frozen Time" set of commercials. In both spots at some point the time was frozen for our heroes to be able to enjoy special moments for longer time. The time freezing effect was established by stoping snowflakes from falling, and by stopping the fireworks burning while camera and our heroes continue their action. To enhance the effect we played with depth of field of camera dramatically and we used various camera movements to further emphasize the effect. I was responsible for all 3D snow in both spots.

Suzuki Grand Vitara "Monster"

I recently finished work on "Suzuki Grand Vitara Leaf Monster" spot. It was very interesting 30 second spot featuring a monster born from autumn leafs, endangering our hero car. Main challenge was to depict the clearly readable monster while keeping dynamic and natural motion of tens of thousands of leafs from which the monster was made of. Additionally to main 3 "monster shots", all other shots were also beefed up with leafs, to help establish dramatic atmosphere. I was responsible for all 3D, 3D track and precompositions.

Bonaqua Water

I finished work on "Bonaqua Water" spot. Two shots with 3D water floating in zero gravity and being drinked by our heroes. Water was animated by combination of metaballs and nonlinear deformers to ensure high degree of creative control for director. I was responsible for all 3D and precompositions.

Velkopopovicky Kozel "Joiner"

I finished work on Velkopopovicky Kozel "Joiner" spot. CG Goat is helping inn-holder to serve best beer and to make guests comfortable. Combination of live action footage and CG goat. I was responsible for grooming of the goat, and lighting and rendering of two shots from the total number of three. I also did the 3D track and precompositions.

Energy Body Styling

I finished work on EBS (Energy Body Styling) spot. Combination of nice energetic live action with 3D elements. Shiny red sphere flying around a girl to emphasize connection with energy and shape. I was responsible for all 3D and precompositions.
